Priorities. Now is time more than ever for me to really reflect and get mine in line. Macklynn Elizabeth Zimmerman was born on 12/28/12 at 6:43 am. She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 inches long. We’ve made it home from the hospital with only a small glitch in our hospital stay. Macklynn spent the night in the Special Care Nursery (similar to a small NICU) because she turned blue for no obvious reason. The neonatologists think it was a result of reflux and Macklynn not being able to clear her airway effectively. Since we are breastfeeding, the foods that I eat directly effect her. Priority #1 of the New Year, get my food figured out so that Miss Macklynn doesn’t have to suffer from reflux. Cleaning up my foods, and actually sticking to a GT lifestyle, will definitely help with that. It’ll be a struggle trying to balance all of the new responsibilities thrown at me but through a little hard work and a “just do it” attitude, I know that I can do it.
Priority #2 of the New Year – give more attention to my mental health. Last night was the first night home with both kids and it was nothing short of stressful. My goal is to be a calmer mom that can handle the daily stresses of life with two kids under the age of two. I plan to find this emotional base by practicing Kundalhini yoga and really making a conscious effort to think healthy thoughts. Having a healthy mind will help me make better decisions regarding my health and my general actions.
2013 will bring forth many changes and lots of hard work but I can honestly say I’m excited for it, but maybe that’s because I got a couple hours of sleep. 😉
