I am betting that every one of us has a list that is much longer than the list in the picture and we are experiencing a lot of stress over that list. I know in the past, my lists were very detailed. I put a lot of pressure on myself for the holidays to be perfect. I felt that I was the one to make or break everyone’s Holiday – if I didn’t get everything done and decorated or buy the most and best presents for the kids and family that I was a failure and the holiday would be ruined for everyone. Those were the days of perfection.
When I saw this list, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and said – ‘Yep, that is what a strive for this year. These are what is important’. It is not the gifts, cards, decorations and cookies! Whew! I felt a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders.
As I get older, I realize that keeping it simple is best for everyone and especially me. Keeping it simple allows me time for my self-care and clean eating. This lends to less stress and the ability to be fully present at the festivities enjoying the people around me.
I am a work in progress through. This is what I strive for. I won’t be able to give up all of my lists and perfections but letting go of several things on my list is a great place to start. What on your list are you willing to cross off?

We are now in the thick of the holiday season. Deadlines are fast approaching and if you are like me, you have a to-do list a mile long. This is a great reminder of how I strive to BE.
